At the moment I am training for my first “Ironman” Distance Triathlon which is happening on September 27th on the Island of Elba (Italy).
I started trithlons last year, completing the Brighton Olympic Triathlon in a “slow” 3:09 mins. (this was completed on a 27 year old racing bike (The Legendary “Coventry Eagle”) but highlights I think that I am not a natural swimmer or cyclist .
However, I am committed to increasing my knowledge about my own body and it’s potential – “Physical Wisdom” – and look forward to the lessons I will learn though the extremes of an Ironman Distance Trithlon.
For those that don’t know, an Ironman distance comprises of a 3.8km swim (2.4 miles), a 180km Bike (118miles) and then 40km run (26.32 miles – marathon distance)
We will see what happens!
