I’m John Limpus, a 31 year old Personal Trainer who lives in Chiswick, West London.
Originally from Godalming, Surrey, I studied Philosophy (BA Hons) at Cardiff University before a period of living in both America and Spain. In May 2004 I was accepted into the Prestigious Sandhurst Military Training Academy in order to pursue my passion to become an officer in the British Army.
However, after completing 6 months of the commissioning course I decided against a career in the Army, leaving behind many good friends but knowing that it wasn’t for me. A brief period of working in the city, helped me identify my true passion and I qualified as a Personal Trainer at Premier Global Training Academy in North London, in 2004.
My passion for holistic treatment has led me to acquire qualifications in NLP (Master Practitioner) EFT, Hypnotherapy, Nutritional Lifestyle coaching (Chek Institue) Sports Massage and in 2007 I was mentored by the UK’s No. 1 Personal Trainer Dax Moy.
Gaining valuable experience working for corporate Health Company Nuffield Proactive Health and LA Fitness (Marylebone) I applied my knowledge to hundreds of different clients in order to refine my own approach and philosophies for effective health and fitness solutions.
As a Trainer I believe passionately in leading by example and whilst being a talented sports person at school and university (County Level Rugby U17) I sought to challenge myself whilst working in order to replicate the lifestyle challenges many of my clients face.
Whilst establishing my own business, I have still found time to train for and complete The Tour De Sucre (a 24 hour challenge to complete a 220 mile bike ride and run a full marathon), The Longmynd Hike ( A 54 Mile Ultra Marathon over the Shropshire Dales), complete a number of triathlons as well as supporting my good friend Tom Beaver on his successful Arch To Arc Attempt in 2008.
In September 2009 I completed my first Ironman. The Elbaman which took place on the island of Elba off the coast of Italy.
Away from work I enjoy reading, the arts, playing the guitar and attempting to train my dog, Fergus.

Despite some disappointment when Johnathan left the army I am delighted that he has turned his passion into a real life career and enjoyable business. Very proud Father

Hey John,
I love your dad’s comment. Shows that in the end when you follow your heart it all comes right…
Just seen that you’re doing the full Ironman on the Isle of Elba on 27th Sep. Good luck! D’you want to crash out in Trieste at any point? Would be great to see you and maybe run through the woods together.

Great site John, I’m on a health kick at the moment and came across this by accident.
I see you decided against a career in TEFL, I ended up in Japan for a year but now back in sunny Glasgow.
