Recent research has highlighted that watching more than one hours television a day can increase your chances of being over weight by as much as 183%!
So this Christmas rather than falling asleep in front of the Eastenders Omnibus why not do something different…?
Here are a few ideas that can help bond the family, reduce potential arguments (or increase them!) and help you burn off a few calories on Christmas afternoon.
If you have any good ones please add them on the comments tab.
Charades
This Christmas Classic requires no equiptment and will also get you moving!
Individuals use mime and familiar gestures to describe the name of a famous Play, Film or TV show. Points awarded to the indivual who guesses the correct answer first.
The Name Game
Will keep you going for Hours!
Split everyone up into equal teams. Everyone writes down five names of “famous” people and places them in a basket. If you have ten players, this will mean there are 50 names now in the basket. Each team takes it in turns for a member to stand up and try to explain the people in the basket. The team then get a point for each name they guess in one minute.
However, there are rules!
For the first round you cannot say the person’s name when describing them.
For the second round you cannot say ANYTHING, only hand signals!
For the third round you can only use ONE WORD
After each round all the names are returned to the basket for the next round.
The team with the most points wins!
A Christmas Walk
Simply get the coats on and get out there! The fresh air and light exercise and restabalise blood sugar levels if you have been a little gluttonous over lunch, and you are less likely to over indulge in the afternoon.
