Are We Selfish Enough?

Here is something From Paul Chek’s Newsletter that caught my eye…

I know that being selfish sounds contrary to being a loving, contributing member of society, so let me put it to you a bit differently:

You can’t love anyone or anything better than you love yourself.

Of course, by loving yourself I don’t mean staring at your reflection in the mirror! No, loving yourself means meeting your innermost fundamental needs – your core values – without compromise.

Once your core values are identified and met, you’ll naturally begin to realign your relationship – not only to your self – but to everything in your life.

And following your core values invariably results in:

  • Loving your career because it engages you
  • Building relationships with people that excite and support you
  • Creating the space to enjoy the activities that truly nourish who you are
  • Fueling yourself with the food, rest and exercise that meets your needs -
  • body, mind and soul

In short, living your core values means each and every day becomes an affirmation of who you are and what you’re all about.
