One of the main thing’s people seem to want in this celebrity focused society of ours is a GREAT body.
We all want to HAVE the stomach of Daniel Craig or Jennifer Anniston, J- Lo’s Butt.
So, off we trot to the gym with our latest “Magazine” workout, and a few weeks later, after DOING all the right exercises, we are miffed because we do not HAVE their great body!
You see, many of us are missing the crucial ingredient in goal success. The “BE”.
Zig Ziglar, the great american sales coach and motivational speaker, always refers to the DO, BE, HAVE philosophy of goal achievement.
In order to HAVE a certain thing, you need to DO certain things, and by consistently doing these things you will BECOME a certain person.
The simple fact is that EVERYTHING has a cost. If you want a body like Daniel Craig’s or Jennifer Anniston’s, you have to DO what they do, and become the type of people they have become.
Daniel Craig refuses to smoke on screen as Bond because it affects his health, and he is very careful with his diet. Because he does these things he has BECOME who he is.
You simply can’t HAVE a great body if you are still DOING the things that will damage your health.
And you simply won’t consistently DO healthy things if secretly you have not really BECOME a healthy person. It just doesn’t work that way.
Although we want the quick fix the truth is you simply have to BECOME the type of person who genuinely places a higher premium on their body than on short term alcohol/nicotene/caffeine/adrenaline fixes.
So the next time you hear yourself saying I want to HAVE this or that, try changing the statement to “How can I BECOME the type of person who deserves this or that?”
